Pool Rules

  1. Swimming alone is not permitted. The River Terrace Homeowners Association has made provisions for the safety of swimmers.  However the Association accepts no responsibility for anyone using the pool or facilities.
  2. The lifeguard, when present, has complete control of the pool area, including the authority to enforce all rules and limit the activity of anyone disturbing the enjoyment of others. If a person continues to break pool rules or disrupt the enjoyment of the pool area for others, the lifeguard has the authority to remove the person from the pool area for the remainder of the day.  When enforcing the rules, the lifeguards’ word is FINAL!
  3. RTHOA requires that all children who are not toilet trained wear swim diapers  in the pool. When a swim diaper fits properly, most bacteria including E. Coli are prevented from entering the water.  Swim diapers are a must to prevent messy pool accidents.Any  suspicion of an E. Coli contamination causes the pool to be shut down and results in otherwise avoidable cleanup costs. Swim diapers should fit snugly. They are designed to be worn alone but may be worn over a disposable diaper or under a regular swimming suit.
  4. Children under the age of 12 MUST be accompanied by an adult or responsible individual of at least 16 years of age at all times. When a lifeguard is present, children aged 12-14 may swim at the pool without additional adult supervision.
  5. No Smoking.  Please go outside the pool area to smoke.
  6. No glass, bottles or chinaware are permitted in the pool area. Food is permitted; however this policy will be discontinued if the pool area is not kept clean. Please dispose of all trash/recyclable material in the containers provided.
  7. When the lifeguard is present, the pool will be cleared every hour for a period of ten minutes for an adult swim and lifeguard break. During the adult swim/lifeguard break, there are no provisions for the safety of swimmers. Therefore, neither the lifeguard, pool management, nor the Homeowners Association will be responsible for swimmers’ safety.
  8. No diving, dunking, pushing, chicken-fights, or rough play under any circumstances. No use of equipment not specifically suited for pool use.
  9. No running in the pool area.
  10. Inappropriate language will not be tolerated in the pool area.  Please respect your neighbors.
  11. Anyone caught vandalizing the pool or the pool bathrooms will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
  12. Do not park bikes, scooters, etc. on the sidewalk in front of the clubhouse.
  13. Please use discretion in using flotation devices when pool is crowded.  These devices limit the view of the lifeguard.
  14. Radios and other portable music systems should be maintained at a level of volume that does not disturb others. The use of a headset is suggested.
  15. Guest limit is 2 guests per homeowner. Guests must be accompanied by a member.
  16. The pool cannot be used for special events without prior authorization.
  17. All cars should be parked in the spaces provided. Please do not park in the loading zone or in front of the basketball goal.
  18. The Homeowners Association accepts no responsibility for items lost or stolen.
